This watercolor attempts to capture all the colors of March, and as I
worked on it, the title of Antonio Carlos Jobim's song kept returning...perhaps
to haunt me. (I shall quote the words to his song ASAP, in my up-n-coming
Journal). March is when things are uncovered. All kinds of things we had
forgotten during the long winter, when snow hides it all. Water flows again,
children exiting my school bus have to dodge tiny rivers that flow with the
sun's heating rays. They test the water with their feet, then splash on through.
It's a dreary time too, when things have little or no color ~ not until April, and
especially May. I humbly submit this, this last day of March. Easter Sunday.
It hints at the promise of Spring
