This is a political commentary on the horrors
of war in general ~ and Iraq specifically. I simply
felt the colors needed to be de-saturated
a bit. Sometimes my Satuate-O-Meter is just
set to a rather high octane...and I eventually hate it!

Original watercolor, on 140lb d'Arches etc etc

INSANE is a good choice of words, as this piece ~ perhaps
you read what I wrote ~ deals with the insanity of war.
Glad it stopped you, long enough to write me! THANKS...

It conveys sadness and despair to me, yet there's that warm feeling behind it all... like there's still hope for us to grow up (not for those who lost their lives, though). Thank you for moving me with your art.

Probably one of my all-time favorite paintings, you have
felt exactly what I believe one should feel. I was in college
during the Vietnam War years, and I remember the suffering,
the anxiety...and we all believed the US would never, never,
NEVER get involved in a worthless war. But we were so wrong.
But I guess the idea is to conserve some hope ~ you used the
right word ~ that some day, war will be forever a thing of
the painful past. Thanks so much for writing, and such thoughtful
word! Best always:

Thank you for sharing your thoughts behind it. I always like art better that way. A colorful connection from human to human through paper or canvas.

Beautiful painting for a subject so terribly sad! Love how the colours burst into each other! Fab!
