Cling film I have tried ~ without a result that I liked. Probably I need to keep working with it... but it's the stickiness that I can't quite figure out, although it doesn't really stick that well to w/c paper. As I recall. Hey! Thanks a lot! dick g
This is so beautiful! The colors are perfect and I love all of the abstraction and experimentation you did! It looks like you put some plastic wrap on there while the paint was drying - that's one of my favorite things to do
man this is beautiful. do you create a textural layer to begin with, and then let the spontaneity dictate where you go from there? that's something i've attempted before but am too lazy to try again. heh.
Might be best if you look at my home page, at the grouping of four stages of a piece.(Upper Left) This grouping is called How to spot an Alien, etc etc That pretty much shows you how I work: Intuitively, NO PLANNING, just let the picture tell ME where to go and what to do next. Same way with The Reprieve. Just start pouring paint, and let it do itself. Also, maybe you could find a good beginner book on Zen. It might help let go a bit. Who knows...it's all so..intuitive. And besides: WHO the heck can plan anything these days? Ya know? Love your comments, dick g
I'm so impressed! Your paintings are very expressiv and poetic, i love how you use colors! It's a bit like stepping into a fantasy world, a world that is very close to my imagination and you get to save on paper!
Thanks Marlene! Your analysis pretty much nails it. I let the color drift freely, then add other colors and then STOP. And look where I think it's going. They don't really do themselves, but kind of. That's the way I like to paint. No drawings. No planning. Thanks for writing! dick g
You're welcome The slogan was a lark one day, but as it fits quite often,I decided to leave it I'll check out the movie when I get a chance. I'm not much of a t.v./movie watcher. You have a great day, also
Thanks so much, Rome. Interesting first name you have. I enjoyed looking at your designs. Yours is a field I dabbled in as an advertising art director for 35 years. Probably a good field to start up your own business, IF one can make it financially! Good luck and THANKS again! dick g
I am so honored to have these words from you, such an accomplished artist you are. I discovered you from this piece: [link] Then I was convinced to WATCH your work. And I too am impressed with your creativity!!! THANKS so much for writing to me!!! Buena suerte, y manténme informado y al tanto con lo que haces! GRACIAS! dick g
