The Chittenden Locks

Seattle ~The Third Sojourn ~ This was a first visit for us, and lucky for us, the
US Government had just reopened. Locks are waterways and therefore fall under the
jurisdiction of the US Government. These locks are the busiest in the US. They connect
Puget Sound (mostly salt water) with a couple of Fresh Water Lakes (Lake Union and
Lake Washington). If you come at just the right time, they've installed a thick window so
one can see the movements of many types of salmon, as they climb a human-made fish
ladder, to head for fresh water spawning, or conversely, to head for the sea where the
young grow up. I'm trying to make these ~ my favorite shots ~ as artsy and non-snap
