I really like it a lot, here what I wrote in the note:
" I would like to suggest this piece for DD as I think it takes full advantage of the "randomness" of ink work and yet in a very controled maner. It suggest a singular world and invites to take the time to look in, past the first impression, through the details of the shapes. "
You and I are on the same page. I joined that group Get DDs and every six months, just for the heck of it...I submit one. And THAT one you like is my latest. Well, I have to WITHDRAW it now...but thank you. I'm trying to lose my "submission/page view" addiction here on DArt...and it's not easy...it's like our FaceBook, really. But I'd just like to get away from the computer in general, and I'm doing all right at it...it's just FUN here!!! And I love my world friends...that's the coolest!!! Richard PS I still don't believe I did Milkman Moon. I've tried to duplicate that texture but have not been successful...yet...
Thanks so much Coco. You probably magnified it, and could then see the texture of Prismacolor pencils on cold pressed (rough textured w/c paper) paper. It also makes quite a difference IF I can photograph the painting with a bit of side light, usually late afternoon sun. THANKS so much for your comments..and take care! dick g
THANKS again COCO. I donated a 13x19" print of "Milk Man Moon' to our silent auction (along with 4 other w/c prints) to make funds for end-of-year party for bus drivers...and that print is going gang busters!!! Good....!!!! Hugs...dick
You're most welcome, Dick ~ so pleased to hear the silent auction is a success for the bus drivers! My brother Steve has been a bus driver for most of his working life ~ he loves it although his shifts are long and he often has to get up at 4.30 in the morning! Coco
I'm afraid I've had enough, after 7 years and our current winter has lasted for 6 months!!! I don't know right now if I'm going to sign on for another school year ~ but I have no other plans, and that's scary. Your brother is young(er) and quite fit. I have to get up at 5:45...and that's early enough! dick
One gets use to it. Problem is: One ages too. I don't have plans to give up doing some kind of art work ~ just wish to do both, because certainly the art makes little or no $. THANKS for writing Coco! Best always... dick g
THANKS! Did you see the Spanish Doņa wearing a black mantilla at the top? AND the kneeling fellow at the bottom with milk running in his mouth? Presumably, he COULD be the Milk Man. HA HA!! Have a great week Trish... dick
