Description

If this painting taught me one thing, it's to never give up on a painting that is one centimeter from the trash. One can easily see the scrub color behind....
that's where I was trying to wipe EVERYTHING off. It wouldn't budge. Well, to inspire me to forge on, several factors came into play. The first was a fellow Deviant who
goes by Multigrade. He showed me that we need not be afraid of jet blacks. I include his piece Sultan. Secondly, the wood engravings of Fritz Eichenberg.
Thanks to my mother who was in a BOMC during the late 1930s and 1940's, I grew up with a fine collection of Classic Books, amongst them, the Brontë sisters, one of
whom wrote Wuthering Heights and its famous archetypal Romantic Hero/Villain, Heathcliff. One of the greatest sufferers of all literature. Best you Google him.
I had to put Heathcliff thru the warp tool to get him to form fit into the tree, made of black gesso. That was not easy. RCG
Watercolor, Black and White Gesso, very minimal Prismacolor Pencils on 140' Cold Pressed Paper.
